Q & A part one: Kirsha Whitcher

Here at Paul Maloney Fashion Agency we decided to ask some of our clients a few questions to find out what makes them tick. First off we have Kirsha Whitcher, the designer behind the effortlessly cool label Salasai.

What's playing on your iPod at the moment?

Grace Jones, Chili Peppers, the Black Crows, Carpenters, Dizzee Rascal, Bjork, the Cure.

What book are you currently reading?

Scar Tissue, Across the Nightingale Floor.

What item in your wardrobe is getting the most wear at the moment?

Salasai Miss Jones Jumpa Dress, OMG I live in it.

Where do you buy most of your clothes?

Other than from my workroom, I buy most bits online.

Do you have any favourite current trends?

Drop crotch knit pants - best invention ever.

Can you describe what your workroom looks like?

A lot of imagery on walls, racks, patterns, fabric, thread, industrial machines, mannequins - organised chaos...

Is there anyone you'd like to see wearing your designs?

Kate Moss, Pixie Geldof.

Where or when do you feel most inspired?

When I'm reading. A good book is killer for getting inspired.

Could you give us any tidbits about your next collection?

Conformed, pleats, convent, structure, innocence, silence.

What's the best fashion advice you've been given?
