Weekend Wanderers AW11
Inspired by a journey to the Pink City of Jaipur, Rajasthan, India-Sretsis latest collection stays true to their feminine and whimsical signature style. From Maharaja opulence to Vagabond simplicity, India has influenced Sretsis with an unseasoned beauty steeped deep in soul-reaching spirituality which has then been reinterpreted into comfortable luxury, textile choices, daring print techniques and a bold palette of Midnight Blues, Coral pinks and Pastel Lilac complimented with traditional tie-dye and metallic golds.
Taking cue from the legendary textile culture of India, Sretsis embraces the age old practice of layering and intricate handywork, and translates them into luxurious fabrications. From the Pink City’s gold and silver lurex chiffon to mermaid appliqué lace in silk organza and cotton lawn, transparent flocked silks and seashell lace appliqué to digital prints on silk, smocked chiffon, breezy cotton linens and embellishments featuring mermaids with sparkling sequined hair to pearl beading on silk chiffons and delicate tulle.
With a myriad of exotic images inspiring Sretsis AW11 collection, perhaps the simplest way to define the collection would be to quote a soundtrack to many an awe inspiring voyage “How does it feel to be on your own/ with no direction home/ like a complete unknown/ like a rolling stone” -Bob Dylan
